advances improvement in global health security control and combats HIV/TB/COVID/Malaria and other infectious diseases in Nigeria and sub-Saharan Africa. Through strategic partnerships, innovative research, and targeted interventions, we strengthen healthcare systems, improve disease surveillance, and enhance emergency response capabilities across health care facilities in supported states in Nigeria.
Our program efforts on HIV/AIDS include focus on:
- • Prevention through intensified community awareness, sensitization and demand generations
- • early detection through improved access to facility wide testing
- • and referral linkages to treatments at the comprehensive hub sites
- and respond to COVID-19 public health threats to safeguard the well-being of communities and promote health security across the regions in Nigeria and sub-Saharan Africa.
GCN Health Foundation employs targeted interventions such as:

and access to essential healthcare services to combat HIV/AIDS including TB, Malaria COVID-19 and other infectious diseases.
These interventions helped to identify and control disease outbreaks, increase immunization coverage, raise awareness about preventive measures, and ensure prompt treatment for infected individuals. By implementing these targeted strategies, we effectively addressed HIV/AIDS, TB, COVID and infectious diseases and protect communities from public health threats.
Non-Communicable Diseases
GCN Health Foundation contributes significantly to the reduction of NCD burden in Nigeria and improve the overall well-being of the population by implementing nationwide strategic initiatives which include:
- • Awareness Campaigns: Launch targeted public awareness campaigns to educate the population about the risk factors, symptoms, and preventive measures for NCDs such as diabetes, hypertension, and cancer.
- • Screening and Early Detection Programs: Establish screening programs in communities to detect NCDs early, enabling timely intervention and treatment to improve health outcomes.
- • Capacity Building: Provide training and resources to healthcare professionals to enhance their capacity to diagnose, manage, and treat NCDs effectively.
- • Partnerships with Government and NGOs: Collaborate with government agencies and non-governmental organizations to leverage resources, expand reach, and implement sustainable NCD prevention and treatment programs.
- • Access to Affordable Treatment: Work towards increasing access to affordable medications and therapies for NCDs, ensuring that individuals can manage their conditions effectively.
- • Data Collection and Research: Invest in data collection and research to better understand the prevalence, trends, and impact of NCDs in Nigeria, guiding evidence-based decision-making and interventions.
Food Security and Nutrition:
To strategically improve food security and nutrition, including the management of severe acute malnutrition in Nigeria and sub-Saharan Africa, GCN Health Foundation implement the following initiatives:
- • Community Nutrition Programs: Establish community-based nutrition education programs to raise awareness about balanced diets, infant and young child feeding practices, and the importance of nutrition for overall health.
- • Food Assistance Programs: Partner with local food banks, farmers, and suppliers to provide nutritious food to vulnerable populations, especially in regions prone to food insecurity.
- • Nutrition Screening and Treatment Centers: Set up screening centers to identify individuals, particularly children, suffering from severe acute malnutrition, and provide timely treatment and therapeutic feeding interventions.
- • Agricultural Support: Collaborate with farmers and agricultural experts to promote sustainable agricultural practices, increase food production, and enhance food diversity to combat malnutrition.
- • Mobile Health Clinics: Deploy mobile health clinics to reach remote communities and provide nutrition assessments, counseling, and support for pregnant women, nursing mothers, and children at risk of malnutrition.
- • Capacity Building:Train healthcare workers, community health workers, and volunteers on nutrition assessment, counseling, and treatment protocols to improve the management of severe acute malnutrition cases.
